BYE BYE TCBY

Saturday March 15th I was checking my myspace when my phone rang... it was Jim the owner of TCBY. He called to inform me that TCBY was closing and that saturday was actually the last day it was going to be open. What a surprise, and not such a good one at that. Nothing like getting a phone call at 3:30 in the afternoon from your boss telling you that you don't have a job after you work your last shift that day. I was so confused at first... i thought he just meant it was closing early or something, but i was wrong it was closing as in goodbye forever closing, so now I am job hunting...yay gotta love looking for jobs

Before I Was a Mom

Before I was a Mom-I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom-I had never been puked on.Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom-I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom-I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom-I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom-I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, or joy, or love, or heartache, or wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Shots... Oh No!

Jakobe had his 2 month checkup today... I thought I was just going to take him in and they would weigh and measure him and that would be about it. Boy was i wrong, he was due for his first set of shots. It was so scray, the nurse held his legs down and made me hold his arms while she proceeded to poke him in bothe legs 2 in each leg for a total of 4 shots. The whole time I was holding his arms down he just stared at me with such sad eyes looking at me like mom what are you letting them do to me. It is probably one of the hardest things to do, to watch your child be in pain. It made me as a mother feel horrible. So he has been unhappy the whole day now... he wants to be held 24/7 but at the same time he gets mad at you for holding him cause it hurts his poor little legs to be held. I gave him the miracle baby tylenol, and now he is quite content swinging in his swing. The rest of his checkup went well he now weighs 10 pounds and 4 ounces and has grown another 2 inches making him a whopping 24.5 inches he is gonna be the next big basketball star if he keeps this growth pace up. So all in all I have a healthy little boy, yay!

The Things We Do to Our Children

The Things We Do to Our Children
Why didn't you say that in the first place? We could have used this new all-in-one vaccination rather than the tradtional multiple injections. Oh well we will do it that way next year...How about that!
